Paeonia ‘Scarlet Heaven’ (Intersectional – ITOH Peony) has large, single 8 inch flowers that are an intense deep red. the center golden yellow antlers are a great contrast to the red petals. Intersectional peonies are created by crossing a herbaceous peony with a woody tree peony. This provides them with the best qualities of both: strong, weather resistant flower stems that do not require staking, longer bloom period, extreme hardiness and increased vigor, healthy green foliage, very floriferous with over 50 blooms on a mature plant. This has been an outstanding performer in our botanical gardens.
