Ordering Information

Chelone glabra (turtlehead) has spikes of white flowers above dark green, glossy foliage. It is called turtlehead because the flower shape resembles a turtle’s head. Grows best in moist meadows, stream banks, and swamps. A North American native plant. We have grown turtlehead in a dry, part shade garden and it has performed well. If grown in full sun it will require constant moisture. (Photo courtesy of North Creek Nurseries).
